Kids’ Club Carnival will be hosted by Penn Wood Bible Church, 440 Hospital Drive, Everett, from 1 to 4 p.m. Aug. 26. There will be a bounce house, games, food, crafts and family activities. Old-fashioned hymn sing and ice cream cordial will be held at 6 p.m. Sept. 17 at the Breezewood Wesley United Parish’s old McKendree Church along Route 126 near Crystal Springs.

Annual Apple Valley Fall Fest will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. Sept. 9 at the Hyndman United Methodist Church parking lot. There will be food, vendors, live music, a silent auction and a live baked goods auction. The fest is sponsored by the Four Point Harmony Charge to benefit local missions.

Bedford Forge Fall Fest will be held from 2 to 7 p.m. Oct. 14 at Bedford Forge Church, 384 Jacks Corner Road, Hopewell. There will be a cruise-in from 3 to 5 p.m., performance by local group Route 869 at 5 p.m., visit by the Sno-Oasis food truck from 2 to 7 p.m., face painting, carnival games with prizes, Pat’s Pumpkin Patch, fall photo ops for families, bounce house and fall crafts for children, free burgers, hot dogs, sloppy joes, fries and drinks. Whips Cove Church Missions soup, jelly and bake sale is canceled for this year. There are soups, jellies, and pickles in inventory and available for sale. Bake sale will be hosted by the Confraternity of Christian Mothers of St. John the Baptist Church, New Baltimore, on Sept. 2 and Sept. 3 following Masses. The sale will be held in the church basement. Mass begins at 6 p.m. Sept. 2 and 8 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. Sept. 3.

Take-out turkey noodle dinner will be served from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sept. 17 at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, Imler. Cost will be $12 per meal, which will include turkey, stuffing, noodles, mashed potatoes, corn or green beans, applesauce, and dessert. Call 814-276-3787 to pre-order by Sept. 15.

Tent meetings will held on Sept. 3-6 at Liberty Independent Baptist Church. Evangelist Dan Hummel will be the speaker, and music will be provided by The Gospel Strings. Service times are Sunday at 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. and Monday through Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. The church is located at 13619 Lincoln Highway, Everett.

First Christian Church at 57 Providence Street, Everett, will host its Mission Festival from 4 to 7 p.m. Sept. 9. There will be sloppy joes, ham barbecue, hot dogs, baked beans, potato salad, chicken soup, fruit salad, pies, cake and ice cream. Dine in or takeout services will be available. Clay McIlnay will provide live music. All proceeds will go to Raystown Ambulance and Bedford Prison Ministry Fund. The event will be held rain or shine.

Sunshine Committee at Fairview Christian Church, 1757 Crooked Run Road, Artemas, will host the Fairview Fall Sale fundraiser from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 30. The event was inspired by the successful Trunk Treasures summer sale where the community rallied in support of our efforts to purchase needed appliances for the church kitchen. The fall sale will feature outside vendors and indoor sale items, including clothes, shoes, puzzles, glassware, seasonal items and a $5 fill-your-bag sale. The kitchen will be open during the event to serve sloppy joes, hot dogs and assorted beverages. There will also be a variety of homemade potpie and soups, including vegetable, chicken noodle, ham and bean, and potato, for eating in or taking out. Artisans, crafters, and vendors are needed. Allegheny Synodical Women’s Organization of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America will host a Day of Renewal from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Aug. 26 at the Altoona Grand Hotel, 1 Sheraton Road, Altoona. Mt. Pleasant Cemetery Association will host a work day from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 9. Volunteers will clean, reset and repair headstones at the cemetery, 104 Mt. Pleasant Road, Breezewood. The rain date is Sept. 23. Lunch and tools will be provided. For more information, call 814-735-4496. Volunteers can come and go as they please on the work day.

Big 50 Bingo will be played at St. John The Baptist parish in New Baltimore at 1 p.m. Sept. 24. Doors will open at 11:30 a.m. Admission will be $30. Refreshments will be available.

Donations of stuffed animals, in either new or collection quality condition, are being collected to be added to shoebox gifts for children. Freedom House Christian Gift and Thrift is open Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The shop features a newly-renovated thrift side, which is larger and more accessible. There also is a clearance section, gifts, including jellies, sauces and dips, and Christian gifts.

End of Summer community festival will be hosted by ReNewing Hope Ministries, 14275 Lincoln Highway, Everett, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 2. Vendors of all types, including craft, flea market, business, nonprofit, games and children’s activities and more, are invited to set up at the festival. Donations of new and used Bibles and other Christian books and materials, Sunday school materials (adult and children), CDs, DVDs, Blu-rays (music, movies, teaching from well-known speakers), children’s puppets, Nativity sets, Bible games, Bible puzzles, flannelgraph materials, etc., are being collected at Grace Bible Church, 164 Laurel Lane, Hollidaysburg. Celebrate Recovery is offered Mondays at Ryot Church of the Nazarene, 406 Dunkard Hollow Road. Free supper is served at 6 p.m. in the social hall (donations accepted), while large group service starts in the sanctuary at 6:30 p.m., followed by small group share.

St. James Thrift Shop, 210 E. John St., Bedford, is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon.

Bingo games will be played on the second Saturday at Immaculate Conception Church, Dudley. Masks must be worn. Doors open at 5:30 p.m.
