In Hello Kitty: Island Adventure, friendships are some of the most vital things players can work on, and grow them by giving gifts to NPCs. For example, increasing friendships with certain characters will unlock crafting plans that often involve tools players need to continue exploring the island, such as the Flippers from Keroppi.

In order to increase friendships, players will want to employ a method similar to leveling up friendships in Disney Dreamlight Valley which includes gifting characters with their preferred items. This will provide significant boosts to the friendship stat, and discovering what characters like is fairly simple as players can ask other characters. However, most characters also have an ultimate gift that increases their friendship more than any other.

Every character on the island is unique with their own personality, and therefore each one has gifts that they prefer, and that will boost their friendship level more significantly. Pekkle loves lots of things, but particularly musical things. Specifically, players can gift him any kind of Music Box as well as musical instruments and even a calming crystal.

Pochaccho

Pochaccho is a bit of a health nut who enjoys fitness, therefore, most of his favorite gifts revolve around those aspects. In particular, Pochaccho likes Tofu, Spinip, and sports-related objects.

Pompompurin

Retsuko's favorite gift can be unlocked by reaching level 4 friendship with Tophat and collecting 3 Ingot, 3 Spark, and 3 Mechanism.

In order to unlock the plan for the Mermaid Figure, players will need to reach level 13 with My Melody. In order to make it, players need 3 Fabrics, 5 Coconut, and 10 Seashells.

At friendship level 16 with My Melody, she will give the crafting plan for the Designer Island Doll. In order to craft it, players will need 3 Fabric, 3 Gift Box, and 10 Sand Dollars.

Keroppi's ultimate gift is a Critter Totem which plans can be obtained by reaching friendship level 10 with Keroppi himself. In order to craft it, players will need 3 Woodblocks, 10 Coconuts, and 10 Mushrooms.

Chococats ultimate gift is unsurprising as it is a book concerning the history of chocolate. In order to make it, players will need the plans from TOPHAT, which will instruct the player on the fact that they need a Blank Book, Mechanism, Spark, and three chocolate coins.
